Drawing the figure
- figure drawings. How to draw the figure. Below are two views of a figure drawing. This drawing is not quite finished (I always neglect the feetvery bad of me). But, it will show how a pose is "blocked out" on a typical Life Drawing sketch.
Below are some of the structure lines (in red) that are put down first when starting a Life Drawing sketch. Just like in the "Gesture Drawing" pages, it is important to draw lines showing the direction of arms, legs, spine, and also the tilt and angle of the hips and shoulders.
Always drawing these "gesture" lines (seen in red) in first is an important part of the figure drawing process.
