Color

An oil painting, using rich earthy tones, like olive green, sepias, umbers, and Payne's grey.

This section covers color-related issues and portraits. I have a color tutorial that discusses "color schemes" and your portrait work, and I have some recommendations of what paints to use in your palette.

Getting pleasing colors for portraits can seem daunting - I hope to take some of the mystery out of it, and help you to feel more confident and creative in your use of color!
